PDP senator denies joining APC

Awka -  Senator Uche Ekwunife
representing Anambra Central
senatorial zone in the Senate has
denied joining the ruling All
Progressives Congress (APC),
reports Vanguard. Ekwunife, whose election was
recently annulled by the Court of
Appeal, said she is still a member of
the Peoples Democratic Party
(PDP), contrary to insinuations in
some quarters that she had defected to the APC. Also read: Appeal Court sacks another PDP senator Ekwunife also refuted claims that
the court has disqualified her and
the PDP from contesting the March
2016 fresh poll in the senatorial
zone. She noted that neither her nor the
PDP was disqualified from the
contest. Ekwunife stated that the PDP had
fixed January 9, 2016 for its party
primaries, saying that she was
confident that she would still fly the
party’s flag to contest the election.
