One killed, two injured in Minna gas explosion

Minna - A gas explosion has left one
person dead and two others injured
in Minna, the state capital of Niger
state, Channelstv reports. The deceased, an attendant
identified as Sani Adewale was
killed in the incident that occurred
around 11.30am when he was trying
to refill a gas cylinder. The body, suspected to be the
owner of the shop, was found
mutilated on the floor of the shop
with two other people also injured. The gas shop, located near a
second generation bank, had just
opened for the day’s business when
neighbours heard a loud explosion. Also read: Dozens die in Christmas eve gas explosion It took the combined efforts of the
Police and Fire Service, including
the National Emergency
Management Agency (NEMA) and
the Niger State Emergency
Management Authority (NSEMA) to extinguish the resultant fire
outbreak. A combined security team also
arrived the scene and condoned off
the part of the dual carriage Bosso
road under Chanchaga Local
Government Area of the state. This is coming a few days after over
100 people were burnt to death on
Christmas eve in an explosion at an
industrial gas plant in Nnewi,
Anambra state.
