A 27-year-old man, Dayo Rasaq, on Thursday appeared in an Iyaganku Chief Magistrates’ Court sitting in Ibadan for allegedly stealing one wood door and 12 planks. Rasaq of unknown address was arraigned on a two-count charge of stealing. The Prosecutor, Cpl. Nike Adeyemi, told the court that Rasaq stole one wood door value at N3, 500 property of one Mufutau Akeem on Aug.15, 2015 at about 6 a.m. at Sango Sawmill, Ibadan.
Adeyemi said Rasaq allegedly stole 12 planks of tick wood valued at N12, 000 property of one Mrs Toyin Adegoke on Nov. 23, 2015 at about 6:15 a.m., at the same sawmill at Sango, Ibadan. She said the offence contravened Section 390 (9) of the Criminal Code Cap 38 Laws of Oyo State 2000. The accused pleaded not guilty to the charges. The Chief Magistrate, Mr Abdulateef Adebisi, granted bail to the accused in the sum of N50, 000 with one surety in like sum.Adebisi adjourned the case till Feb.25, for hearing.

Hahahahaha I no fit laff. masses dey suffer for dis country o. So politicians will steal billions and use jt few millions as bail then they are free to go wit d loot and later they will become ambassador or govt official thru rigging wit d stolen money then a poor man will be sentence 10 to 20yrs for stealing bread to eat cus of hunger. Am not justifying wat he did but some times there's nothing like law for d rich.

What is this country turning into,for stealing planks valid for 12k & was granted bail for 50k. What about those that stole billions of tax payers money & were granted bail on plea bargain for #150k. The law is seriously naïve when it comes to dealing with the poor,what a shame!!!!!!

Haba,where he go bring the 50k for his bail? You know no wetin come push am to steal blank(wood) na him una come dey task him 50k,which means una still want him to thief the more,na wa for the judge or abi na learner judge?
