Is Nigeria surviving as a nation on the neck of America? No. After all, Pres. Obama showed his dislike and lack of regard for Nigeria when he visited a neighbouring country and shunned Nigeria, so what? Why are we then surprised that Nigeria was immediately put on America's so called 'watch' list? Nigeria is a sovereign nation and has the right to defend its territory and peoples. With this reaction from America, Nigeria also has a right to place America on its 'frenemies' watch list and relate with them as such. We should not just take any trash forced down our throats by any country. What's the nationality of the shoe bomber? Was Britain put on America's 'watch' list? No. Nigeria should keep its stand and let America or any other country for that matter understand that we are no push over. One would have expected America to work with the relevant authorities in Nigeria to investigate further and come up with a masterplan towards forestalling any such future negative acts. After the shoe bomber's attempt, America and Britain are still working together towards checking the acts of terrorism. Of course we know that if America had respect for Nigeria, it would have done the same with Nigeria. Agreed, we have internal problems that we are grappling with, but America should not come and dump 'terrorrism' on Nigeria without considering all the facts surrounding Mutallab's shameful act. America should have considered all facts on the ground before slamming Nigeria as a terrorist nation, otherwise, the result may not be mutually beneficial to both countries. The Obama administration had sent signals to the PDP in Aso Rock that business won't continue as usual. The handwriting was already on the wall (read Obama's speech in Ghana, Hillary's comments in Nairobi and Abuja and Johnnnie Carson's remarks on Capitol Hill in November). AbdulMutallab's case has just given them something concrete to latch on to and be rest assured that they will pile on the pressure. The PDP govt needs to coordinate a sensible response and not have every Ayogu Eze, Wole Oke and Ahmed Alkali mouthing vain threats at America. The Senate needs to fasttrack the screening of Prof Adefuye's nomination as the Ambassador to Washington and let us have a focal pointman in DC working with the White House & Foggy Bottom to resolve this issue.

Im wondering why people cant see further. His greatest achievement is already done becoming the first black president of the USA. So opening the doors for further black generations to come.

Many black ppl made the mistake to take Obama as their fighter and defender for black african rights. Only cause he is having black skin colour. But in Obama s venes r also flowing white genes cause his late mother was white american lady. Apart from that fact, Obama is american president. As such he has to please his citizens first. I wonder, where r u taking ur "wisdom" from? I dont want to know, which kind of white ppl u have met and where... How many white ppl among all do u know? I can only speak for germany cause i dont know, what ppl r doing in other countries. I dont know any single woman, even among the ugly ones, which is desperated to get a man. Every woman here use to have many admirers running after her and begging. The thing is, that we german women dont like to depend on a man/husband only. We use to take our time and concentrate on our carreer first, bfore with may age of 30 years thinking about marriage. Cause we normal educated women know, that when we hve once children, it will be difficult to have any carreer in germany again o.
