A boundary dispute between the Ukwuagba- Ngbo community in Ohaukwu Local Government Area of Ebonyi State and Agila in Ado Local Government Area of Benue State at the weekend, turned bloody as an indigene of Ojiogu village, Ebonyi state, one Eze Stephen was reportedly beheaded. Unknown gunmen allegedly from Agila community were said to have invaded the Ngbo community, kidnapping one Nwede Augustine and injuring no fewer than five persons. The war between the two neighbouring communities has lingered for decades with many lives lost and properties worth millions of naira destroyed, Vanguard reports. The Ebonyi State Police spokesperson, ASP George Okafor, confirming the incident, said the matter was under investigation. Okafor said the command received a report from the Coordinator of the Development Centre, Donatus Agbo, on the attack. “It is an inter-state crisis and from the information available to us, this crisis has lasted for so many years which comes up once in a while. “We have visited the scene; they really caused serious damage to that village but we are on the matter and we will do all the needful to get the matter strengthened out. “Security personnel have been deployed to the area to ensure adequate protection of lives and properties and to cause the immediate release of the kidnapped victim in the area. “We recovered some of the AK 47 empty shell bullets used by the Agila people when they invaded the whole village,” the spokesperson added.

why killing these people instead the community can take their rift to court and ventilate their grievance before the eyes of the law.
