Two ministers in the administration of former President Goodluck Jonathan – Asabe Asmau Ahmed from Niger State and a former Minister of Mines and Steel, Musa Sada, from Katsina State – have told the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, of their involvement in the alleged N23.29 billion election bribery scandal.

The campaign fund were received from the former Minister of Petroleum Resources, Diezani Alison-Madueke via Fidelity Bank ahead of last year’s presidential poll.
During investigation, Mr. Sada disclosed that he was authorised by a former governor of Katsina State, Ibrahim Shema, to collect N700million on behalf of Katsina State and remit it to the state’s former Commissioner of Finance.

The commissioner was asked to keep the money for the governor, a statement by the EFCC said.
Mrs. Ahmed also stated that she kept N105 million for herself and transferred the balance to top Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, party officials in Niger State.
In a related development, a former Minister of State for Agriculture, Asabe Asmau Ahmed, from Niger State, revealed how she personally signed and collected N450 million.

Hello Naijapals! I got this from an article somewhere in Europe, a concerned Nigerian wrote the below. Do you agree with him?

“HOW HEARTLESS AND INHUMANE PEOPLE CAN BE, EVEN IN A VERY RICH COUNTRY WITH A LOT OF WEALTH. INSTEAD OF INVESTING THIS HUGE AMOUNT OF MONEY TO BETTER THE LIVES OF YOUR OWN CITIZENS SUFFERING IN POVERTY. BY CREATING GOOD JOBS FOR MILLIONS OF UNEMPLOYED GRADUATES IN NIGERIA, CONSTRUCT GOOD INFRASTRUCTURE, UPGRADE EDUCATIONAL FACILITIES, HEALTH FACILITIES AND ENERGY FACILITIES, INVEST IN TECHNOLOGY, AGRICULTURE, CLEAN DRINKING WATER AND HOUSING FOR ALL NIGERIANS. THIS AMOUNT OF MONEY IF MANAGED PROPERLY WOULD BE ENOUGH TO EMBARK ON THESE VITAL PROJECTS TO BENEFIT INNOCENT SUFFERING NIGERIANS. INSTEAD, YOU PREFER TO STEAL THIS HUGE AMOUNT OF MONEY AND DEPOSITED IT IN YOUR PERSONAL ACCOUNT IN NIGERIA, AS WELL AS SENT IT TO YOUR OVERSEAS ACCOUNTS FOR YOUR OWN PERSONAL USE, AND YOU EXPECT NIGERIANS TO CLAP FOR YOU AND BE SILENT ABOUT IT. IT’S A SHAME, EVEN THE CHIEF OF AIR STAFF. A PERSON IN SUCH POSITION, SERVING OR RETIRED OUGHT TO BE RESPONSIBLE, DISCIPLINED AND TRANSPARENT AS YOUR PROFESSION DEMANDS”
