Are you an international supermodel wannabe? Do you feel it would be impossible out there to make your modelling dreams come true because you are an African lady? Well, I bet the story of Liya Kebede would be a source of inspiration to you as long as you nurture that dream of building a career path in modelling despite the country you come from or your skin colour. Please join me as I take you on a journey of the successful modelling career of Liya Kebede.

Liya Kebede is an Ethiopian supermodel, clothe designer, philanthropist, maternal health advocate and actress born on 1st March, 1978 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Her father was an executive officer in an airline company in Ethiopia and she was the only daughter in a family of five. Liya had always nursed a modelling ambition. A French film maker discovered her and brought her into the glamorous world of modelling. She was introduced to a French modelling agency when she was attending a Franco-Ethiopian school, Lycee Guebre-Mariam.
After completing her education at the age of 18, Liya moved to Paris in France with the aid of a French agency to pursue her modelling career in France. In France was where her modelling career thrived. This is because, on settling down in Paris, Liya modelled, as a runway model, for Ralph Lauren, Yves, Gap, Dolce & Gabana, Saint-Laurent, and many other popular brands.
