The visitors were thumped by Arsenal last weekend and our tipster is backing the Reds to get amongst the goals when they host Mike Phelan's men
History is against Hull City ahead of their Premier League clash with Liverpool this weekend. The Tigers have never beaten the Reds in competitive action at Anfield and, having picked up just one point from their last three top-flight fixtures, Mike Phelan’s men will need a significant upturn in fortunes if they are to put that particular statistic to bed.
Jurgen Klopp’s side come into this match in fine fettle, having won four of their last five fixtures and the hosts are, understandably, strong favourites to maintain momentum by taking maximum points from their tussle with the Tigers.
Defending Premier League champions Leicester City were thumped 4-1 in Liverpool’s only home match thus far this term and the Reds will hope to further improve upon their solid record on home turf under Klopp, for the hosts have lost just one of their last 14 Premier League matches at Anfield.
Liverpool have bagged seven points from tricky trips to face Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea in the Premier League so far this season, with the Reds’ only blip coming in a shock 2-0 defeat against Burnley at Turf Moor.
Those who fancy Hull to emulate the Clarets can back Phelan’s side at a chunky 14/1 (15.0) with Betway, but Liverpool have been beaten in just one of their last 39 matches against newly promoted sides at Anfield.
Furthermore, Liverpool have hit 15 goals in five matches since being beaten by Burnley, while the Tigers were taken apart in a 4-1 defeat at the hands of Arsenal in their previous Premier League outing.
Remarkably, though, the Reds have scored three or more goals in six of their last eight competitive victories in all competitions and, with the men from Merseyside already amongst the goals thus far this term, backing that trend to continue could well prove profitable when the Tigers visit Anfield.
