I Do not know if the poster is really on this track, but everything he posted is nothing  but the truth. My uncle went to marry and igbo girl which he sponsored      to secondary school and university with his own money and yet her native people demanded up to 2 million for her bride price.
ThiS people are really something else.
If they don't do anything about it Very soon their girls will be stranded in the street.

I see the problem is that u are cheap plus u don't have any money. If microwave and stove come first on top of your priority and the woman u want to marry becomes the opportunity cost, then u are not ready for marriage. Secondly, u have equated the value of your wife-to-be to a bag of rice and wine. I see a cultural probe of your background: u came from a different cultural background where women sponsor/train themselves academically through whatever means, therefore eliminating the role of the parents in decision making of their lives. If that is the case, and in such cases, then parents can settle for a bag of rice and a bottle of wive. However, if any parents have spent their live savings to sponsor the education of their daughter, u will be called cheap to offer them a bag of rice and your bottle of wine. Before I could say more, please tell pals what level of educations the girl has? What type job does she do? and what u do yourself. Before I leave u alone, u must know that some Igbo parents just call out amount for bride price for a few reasons, not excluding the following: to test how serious or committed the man is, to chase away somebody they don't want their daughters married to, to cut their losses if they perceive the in-law may never extend arms anymore after the marriage and so many other ulterior motives.
park there..how he go marry with the huge sum of money ...for what...
