Pete Edochie recently granted the 8-minute long video explaining his view on the current state of Igbo culture, Fulani herdsmen and the country.

This is a message every serious Nigerian shouldn’t miss.

Aside taking big roles in Nollywood films, Pete Edochie is also an inspiration to the youth with his candid speeches.

He recently granted an eight-minute long video with Ugwumba TV, explaining his view on the current state of Igbo culture, Fulani herdsmen and the country.

If you don’t understand Igbo language, here are six punchlines you can bookmark.

1. Igbos are no longer proudly speaking their language, if you ask somebody a question in Igbo they will reply with English and English don’t even suit their mouth. If we keep running away from our language it will die.

2. There are few people in Nigeria that speak English as well as I do because I studied English and was trained by the BBC.

3. If all the Igbos come together and say this is where we shall stand, no president of Nigeria will turn their back on us.

4. I was reading a daily the other day when Fashola (Nigeria’s minister of Power, Works and Housing) said by 2020 that Nigeria will be powered by coal, the coal that is in Enugu and Kogi. Why did he not come to Enugu to announce such if he really meant it? These are the things our people should be insisting on.

5.  If an innocent child is respecting you whilst you flog him, he would retaliate when you force him to a tight corner.

6. Man will die once and one day and defend himself with whatever weapon available to him.

Great words from a great legend but sir a Minister (be it information or works) could use any occasion whether in paris, deira, london, abuja or lagos to express their plans or next programme...

The current Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton said "we will put coal miners out of business"[sic]. With such a public stance against coal as an energy source, I doubt the US will sit and watch Nigeria pollute the world with this outdated source of energy. What happened to wind, and solar energy Mr Fashola?
Elder Edochie, you should become a statesman. Thank you for your I input.

Great question. Thank you for asking. In this day and age, they do not have to com down to Nigeria to derail that policy. Even China succumbed to Us pressure to limit their carbon emissions to reduce the impact of climate change. If they can succeed with getting China to change their status quo, in all honesty, I don't think we stand a chance of arguing with them if and when they request we change that policy. For one, China spends a fraction of their money on researching climate change and have seen the impact. We do not do such research or care about such topics....they have what it takes to paint us as one of the major polluters.....we can't argue our way out of that when the time comes for them to make such an argument. Such image will only hurt our economy more, and definitely impact  our suffering youths. We can do better as a nation. Thank you.
