Tottenham travel to Manchester United this weekend aiming to open up a nine-point lead over their rivals.

Mauricio Pochettino's side have lost just one Premier League fixture this season while the Red Devils have not won on home soil since beating champions Leicester in September.

Spurs will go into the game in confident mood, having seemed to rediscover their mojo during a midweek victory over CSKA Moscow.

And the north Londoners are also expected to be the fresher of the two sides with Jose Mourinho's men set to endure an energy-sapping trip to Ukraine.

Both teams need positive results to keep pace with their rivals and all signs point towards an entertaining encounter.


TEAM NEWS
Toby Alderweireld is set to make his first start in eight weeks when Tottenham take on Manchester United on Sunday.

Alderweireld has been out with a knee injury but came off the bench in Wednesday's Champions League win over CSKA Moscow.

Erik Lamela is unavailable as he is still in Argentina attending to his brother, who is in hospital. Vincent Janssen remains out with an ankle problem.

Chris Smalling is still out with a broken toe but Luke Shaw is in line to recover from a knock.

Michael Carrick, Antonio Valencia and Matteo Darmian were all left at home for the trip to Zorya Luhansk, suggesting they will feature against Spurs.

Eric Bailly has recovered from a knee injury and is set to be available but Mourinho's selection will depend on how United fare on a frozen pitch in Ukraine on Thursday night.

Manchester United (4-1-4-1): De Gea; Valencia, Jones, Rojo, Darmian; Carrick; Mata, Herrera, Pogba, Martial, Ibrahimovic.

Tottenham (4-2-3-1): Lloris; Walker, Alderweireld, Vertonghen, Rose; Wanyama, Dembele; Eriksen, Alli, Son; Kane.
