Nigerian journalist Simon Ateba shared this photo on his Timeline today. According to him:
Quote
'Pastor Adeboye is humble. His wife does not wear gold. But his son sells shoes at this shop on Opebi road for $4000 each. Who is deceiving who? Forget these gods of men are the same. Go to 3 Wise men on Opebi. Ask to buy a shoe. The Duchess on top belongs to the son's wife' Nigerians reacted and blasted Simon Ateba for being this petty towards Pastor Adeboye's son.

I hope I'm allowed to deviate from popular comments on this matter. The point here, I suppose, is that Adeboyes live in affluence, has such a high class shoe shop and still pretend to be living in simplistic. If I may ask, what financial institution gave his son the loan to open the sophisticated shoe shop like that? In what country is the shop located? Can Nigeria allow any shop to post price tags with foreign currency? If so, does it mean our currency is no more acceptable in our own country?

Do I blame them? I blame those that pay tithes and offerings to them instead of paying it to their needy relations. Our Lord Jesus Christ never took tithe and offering from anyone. If the ignorant brainwashed ones want to quote Mal. 3:10, fine. Why not pay that tithe and offering to the poor ones in your family? Don't forget to quote Matt. 28 too, because pastoral work was given to every one of us, and not to some self anointed few. It's called The Great Commission Jesus told Nicodemus to sell his belongings and give the money to the poor, and not to a "pastor" or pay tithe from it for a reason. If you guys stop financing these pastors' greed, there'll be great changes. God never asked anyone in the Bible to be a full time minister. Apostle Paul and the others had a means of livelihood alongside Mission. Jesus said and I paraphrase, if you take care of your poor ones, you have taken care of me.

Complete fake story. “He for stay for Lagos jeje dey sell him parts” is the truth of the post/story. He was traveling from Lagos to Anambra when he ran into Yoruba masquerade that flogged him in the eye. Take a good look at the background and photo of the story: Igbos do not dress like that, Igbos do not look like that, Igbo people do not wear those faces when somebody is in danger or afflicted with harm, Igbo people do not wear those colors, their attire does not look anything like Igbo. Igbo people do seldom make clothes with local wax. Look at the children in the photo, Igbo people do not dress all their Children to go out like that. That masquerade can only be found in Yoruba, Anambra people have better finished and glamorized masquerades than this tarter. Lastly, Igbo men do not answer Adaobosi. Look at the woman in blue attire, look at her head tie. Igbo women do not follow masquerade to dance around.

@kejguv: I did not miss any road, I just wanted to bring up the topic of "Businessman went home for Christmas, flogged by masquerade, became blind and fighting for his life". The post says it happened in Anambra, by Enugu masquerade claimed the poster. I could have done it differently, I agree with u.
