The Menace of Cults in Nigerian Academic Institutions ns :
(Amazon , black axe, eiye, jezebel  .etc) is real as shown in the video below  and appears to be  squeezing the fun out of the burn

Some believe  the military influence is apparent and perhaps mainly responsible

How did we get there and which way out ? This is only a topic for the bold . I know  But go to school we must, whats the best approach to studying without getting sucked and focus mainly on the golden fleece of studying   I understand cultists do the  best possible to win more members.. GOOD THING OR BAD THING ?

thanks Toks . i was just wondering what this type of bullying might involve or what it entails if not another means of sending the message across that "if you  is  are not one of us then we can continue to terrorize you until you 'get smart' "

I keep saying it.. it's the irresponsibility and indicipline of our police and judges that allowed this issue to escalate to this point.

That appears a good point to me
Even the university administrators could do better to provide safety and security to all members of the university community by axing unruly entities provided they themselves do not see any good in them as we are made to believe   some are of  the opinion that cultists abound for a good reason .  - to check the excesses of the authority especially some lecturers who believe they are owed more than they work for - they want additional perks in kind .

i think the whole society has to carry the blame for this... i attended a nigerian university for a year so i knw first hand how it can be intimidating for u 2 be ju man as they used 2 describe ppl that were not afiliated to any cult... the blame should start from the parents all d way 2 d executive arm of government for allowin' the society 2 decay 2 dis point......

i had cousins who were seriously bullied by these goons .  even coming to their residence to terrorize and perform many vile and  criminal acts including rape and other intimidation and the university administrators could lift a hand on anyone as that video claimed .
Surprising to me that i also attended a Nigerian university some years back in the west  when the pyrate confraternity sailing at nite prevented the ambulance to take a  critically ill student to the hospital leading to death .  Leaders were rusticated and many others suspended who were members of the clan .  that was when integrity still prevailed .  I wonder how decadent things have turned now .  its sickening to hear these news .  Studying used to be fun those days

cultism has alway been and will alway be in nigerian institutions.  blaming the parent or government is uncalled for. change lies
with the students and perhaps for God to minister to them.  i remember the" eye confraternity " in my uni back in niger and how they caused havoc. its only God that can take control.

Parents have a great role to play in guiding the young ones in life provided the family union is intact and the parents are strong enough to be parents  who can be listened to at home .

Charity begins at home and this charity can take one very  far in the outer world .
It is  rare that  someone get influenced  to  join a cult who comes from a home that do not believe in the dark movements often looked upon as the source of POWER !

And yes government has a right to protect every member of the community from intimidation although it seems to me hands are tied when it comes to coming out against cults thats why the video says so many deaths and no single arrest so far .   .  Isnt that enough proof that the government has a nonchalant attitude towards this development that appears to be  more rampart in the south than in the Northern states ??

Cultism has always been in almost every society since the beginning of time only that Nigerian cultism in the institutions of higher learning has been taken to extremity claiming precious lives  .   That video shows 80 deaths within the span of 2yrs and no single arrests made.
A possible reason the government is turning a deaf ear is to let the cult members learn a natural lesson of life ? Most of the death are caused by rivalry between the cult members themselves .

God is already taking control through redemption if only people can know that the power they seek in cults is very very limited and can only take them so far .

Even the  Italian Mafiozo that the cultists tend to ape through their actions and gory assasinations  are not waxing in strength - it appears the reverse is the case judging by recent trends

TALKING ABOUT cults on campuses  these   AMAZON    AND  daughters of Jezebel or " acada" ladies in cult practices is what is quite bewildering

Women are generally not known to be privy of the ongoings in the dark world as they seldom keep the oath of secrecy  often called the   law of silence  (the omerta) sicilian mafiosi

In our society the progress one makes is largely dependent on connections and someone who is not well connected to make it big might be tempted to take  solace in the cults. Also those in high places find the cults the appropriate medium to sustain their level of societal influence . Mainly its a search for a kind of  personal empowerment in my opionion

Ultimately the question will have to be answered by each individual which way to follow . The path of Love or the path of power.  The love of power or the power of love .

A cult is still a cult either on campus or out of it - they set out for the same negative goals as revealed by current happenings in some part of Ogun state .  the regular mafia style killings .

cults have the same purpose within the campus and out of it .  to terrorize no cultists  and cultists alike mostly resulting in senseless killings
