The world's wealthiest man was worth $75 billion in 2016

- Charity organization Oxfam calculates that his wealth has grown at a rate of 11 percent

- At that rate, Bill Gates is likely to become the world's first trillion-dollar man within the next 25 years

The cofounder of Microsoft, Bill Gates, was the wealthiest man in the world for the umpteenth time in 2016, with an estimated worth of $75 billion. According to some calculations, the rate at which his net worth is growing will likely see him become the world's first trillionaire within the next quarter of a century.
Oxfam, the world's leading charity organization, estimates that Bill Gates' net worth is increasing at a rate of 11 percent every year. Based on this, it projects his net worth to be over a trillion dollars in 25 years.
This projection would hold true even if Gates continues to give away billions through his well-known charity foundation.

Forbes magazine already estimates that Gates net worth jumped by $10 billion to $85 billion dollars in January this year.
Gates doesn't just make a lot of moneyhe gives away a lot of money too. Estimates indicate that as of 2013, he had donated up to $28 billion through his foundation to contribute towards fighting global poverty.
