The UK government on Sunday, issued a statement to the effect that former Governor James Onanefe Ibori was deported to Nigeria following the conclusion of his jail term in Britain.

The statement disclosed that British officials would continue the legal process to confiscate the proceeds of the former governor’s loot, which would then be returned to Nigeria.

The statement reads,

Quote
“Having been jailed for his crimes in the UK and served his sentence, Mr. Ibori has now been returned to Nigeria. The UK will continue to pursue, vigorously, the legal process to confiscate and return to Nigeria, Ibori’s criminal assets. The UK is determined to lead the way in a coordinated global effort to bring the corrupt to justice.

“That is why it was vital we sent a clear message to the world that James Ibori, a man who stole millions from the Nigerian Government and laundered those proceeds in the UK, has been held to account. Mr. Ibori’s return will not prevent prosecutors from pursuing confiscation proceedings against him.‎”

Gbam! Here in Nigeria, some so called distinguished men whose head should be examined are still claiming their illustrious but crooked son was facing political persecution. It's a good thing Ibori was tried and jailed in the UK; hence some morally bankrupt but powerful politicians would be rooting how they will anoint Ibori as their VP in the next political dispensation. In this Country such trial would never come to be, as indicated by the presence of some high profile crooks that are still presiding over our Affairs.

Those with the SENSE of RIGHT and WRONG KNOW he was DEPORTED.

However it will NOT STOP his PARTY MEMBERS, friends, family and kinsmen BOWING down to a man made GOLDEN CALF and worshippping him.

The people of the UK are LUCKY. You got RID of him.

Nigerians are STUCK with him FOREVER.

The MOST sad thing is - when the STOLEN money is RETURNED to Nigeria - IT WILL BE STOLEN AGAIN!
