Bakare died in April after a long battle with heart and respiratory disease. Family and friends of veteran Nollywood actor, Olumide Bakare gathered together at the Prince and Princess multipurpose hall, Ibadan for his service of songs, on May 25, 2017.

Among those present were Nollywood actresses, Toyin Adegbola, Ayo Mogaji, presenter Yemi Ogunyemi and clerics from the Anglican communion.

Speaking to the congregation, Toyin Adegbola noted that the veteran actor left an indelible mark which no one could fill in the entertainment industry.
