A suspected Badoo cult member narrowly escaped being burnt to death on Tuesday in Ikorodu, Lagos.

Residents had nabbed the suspect and attempted to set him on fire but for the timely intervention of a police officer who shot in the air to disperse the crowd.

Some of the angry residents said they “no longer trust police” to carry out due judgment on suspects handed over to them.

A resident earlier told us some innocent persons may have fallen victims to the residents’ impatience.

Tension and apprehension in Ikorodu has heightened due to the incessant killings by members of the cult group.

Police have warned all persons to carry valid forms of identification when moving in and around the area.
