The much awaited July 7 came like any other day.

The anticipation of most observers of the movie industry was on who would attend what event.

Really, many events especially, movie premieres were scheduled for July 7, 2017.

The first to have made a noise of 7-7-2017 was petite actress, Lizzy Anjorin, whose work, “Owo Naira Bet,” was to be launched that day.

Then Saidi Balogun, another actor in the industry shifted his 50th birthday celebration to 7-7-2017.
A lead actor in Liz Anjorin’s movie, “Owo Naira Bet,” everyone thought he should not have slated his event on a day he was meant to be a part of the premiere of a film he played a lead role.

Well, the excuse was that Saidi postponed his celebration from May to July because three of his colleagues—Moji Olaiya, Olumide Bakare and Pastor Ajidara—died and were buried and two were buried in May!

Then, the media war started and Liz made a fuss of the situation. She cursed; she threw tantrums and did all she could to tell the world of how she was ‘betrayed’. But Saidi never said a word and continued with his preparations—sending invites, selling aso-ebi, and releasing names of dignitaries to attend.

Lizzy’s event held, however, and it was a huge success.

To headline the event which held in Lagos were King Sunny Ade and Pasuma Alabi.

The crowd was huge too and her aso-ebi was worn by many of the guests.

It was also an array of royal fathers, prominent among them was the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi who came with his two young queens. To honour Liz was the former governor of Lagos State, Dame Abimbola Fashola.

Actresses such as Funke Adesiyan, Seyi Edun, Olajuwon Adewunmi and others stormed the event.

Liz must have been overwhelmed with the success of her event that she started shedding tears of joy at the event.
