Residents of Mosan/Okunola area of Lagos State have been thrown into a state of panic as a father of two was mysteriously killed in his home while his female partner for the night was brutally attacked and is fighting for her life.
The deceased, Opeyemi Oluleye, of No 23 Abeokuta Street, had his head smashed in the manner favoured by dreaded cult group Badoo. A grinding stone, the cultists’ weapon of choice, was found near the scene of the gruesome murder.
Sources say Opeyemi’s wife and two children had recently relocated to her home town in Ekiti State due to the dire economic situation, and he took advantage of the family’s relocation to engage in extra marital affair with the lady simply identified as Bola.
The 40-year-old father of two was last seen at about 10pm penultimate Saturday before he retired to bed with Bola, only for him to be found lifeless in a pool of his own blood and his head smashed beyond recognition the next morning.
Upon searching the area, a blood stained grinding stone was found in a nearby drainage which aroused suspicion that the duo might have been attacked by ‘Badoo’ which has been terrorizing Ikorodu and environs.
The police have since deposited the body in a morgue while the injured victim was rushed to a government hospital where doctors are still battling to save her life.
A resident, Lateef Sekoni, told Vanguard that Opeyemi may have picked the girl from a nearby brothel.
“Opeyemi, a tiler, usually patronized a nearby hotel where prostitutes usually do business. They either book for in-service or follow their clients’ home and that may have led to Opeyemi’s death.”
The matter is presently under investigation by the police.
