The controversy surrounding tithing seems not to be over as Nigerian rapper, Lanre Dabiri, ‘Eldee’ has asked Nigerian pastors to provide Bible verses backing tithing. The rapper says Pastors have failed to convince Nigerians why tithe is mandatory unlike OAP Freeze who has supported his preaching with scriptures. According to him, no pastor including G.O Adeboye has been able to give a scriptural backing on where God mandated tithing.
“Freeze has asked Nigerian pastors to come and explain where in the bible God mandated tithing and not a single one has been able to respond with scripture not even the all time tithing collection Grandmaster G.O

“If you’re christian when you get to church this Sunday beg your pastor to please help shut Mr Freeze up by sharing the bible verses where God mandated Tithing.
“We are all curious now,”
Eldee wrote on his snapchat page.

There are scriptures to back tithing both in old and new testament. I will not mention the old testament scripture because a lot of people knows it. A lot of people believe that Jesus didn't mention or support tithing, but Jesus did. Matthew 23:23 KJV says,  'Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have omitted the weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone.'
I am not in support of pastors who are living a flamboyant life style while their church members are living in abject poverty. It is not our duty to Juge them. Jugement is for God. Solomon the wisest king, through the end of his life he said, in Ecclesiastes 12:13-14, Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the duty of all mankind. For God will bring every deed into judgment, including every hidden thing, whether it is good or evil.

Brothers and sisters pay your tithe and leave judgment for God.

But scripture you quote contradicts what you are saying. Jesus emphasized love and not riches or tithes

Nigerian pastors are too materialistic, though some of them started well but gifts, offerings and tithe twisted their morals and preaching.

if you want to pay tithe fine, if you feel not to pay better.

on the last day we shall know if paying tithe or the grace of of God qualifies one to heaven.

Matthew 23:23    New International Version (NIV)

“Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You give a tenth of your spices—mint, dill and cumin. But you have neglected the more important matters of the law—justice, mercy and faithfulness. You should have practiced the latter, without neglecting the former.

Jesus Christ clearly acknowledge tithing,.....but said people should also practice  justice, mercy and faithfulness .  because without these , tithing only would not get you salvation

But James;4:17 says, So whoever knows the right thing to do and fails to do it, for him it is sin.
How can you see evil and u can't speak out, not judging, but have to air it out. these are reason evil is prevailing against goods in Nigeria, I don't care matter.
please speak up.

James 4:17, So whoever knows the right thing to do and fails to do it, for him it is sin. we have to speak out for the evils that the so called pastors are creating in Christendom. These are not judgmental but the goods has to prevail over evil. keeping quite will not augur well for our country.

Malachi: 3. 8. Will a man rob God? Yet ye have robbed me. But ye say, Wherein have we robbed thee? In tithes and offerings. 9. Ye are cursed with a curse: for ye have robbed me, even this whole nation. 10. Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it. - Bible Offline
Just wandering why people wanna contest with Jehovah, how the money is spent should not be our concern.
