In order to encourage honesty, Diamond Bank has rewarded a Nigerian man who returned N30,000 erroneously dispensed to him by an ATM in Wuse, Abuja.
Officials of the bank paid him a visit at his office where they gave him a cake and some cash.
Writing on its Twitter page, the bank wrote:
"Few days ago I posted about an Abuja based Maiduguri man, Malam Alkali Adamu Askira who returned N30,000 erroneously dispensed to him by a @DiamondBankNG ATM in Wuse 2 Abuja. Today, the regional Manager of the bank & some of his staff visited him & gave him a cake & some cash.
We love the honesty of Nigerians. This is Mr. Alkali Askira Adamu who returned the excess payment he received from a Diamond ATM. In this season of Love, Diamond Reps. paid him a visit to reward & recognize him for his outstanding gesture. #Itsalovething We Love!We Care!We Help!"

That's good but some banks don't settle customers who made incomplete transactions. Sine 2 June 2012, one old generation bank is still to reverse my N20k after visiting their head office for more than 5 times.
