''Jeremiah Tayo, popularly and fondly called coach was a 500 level law student of Ahmadu Bello University. He died early hours of the morning, August 15th, a few days to his final exams.
Coach was admitted into the ABU teaching Hospital Shikah on the 31st of July 2018. Even though he had a blood count as low as 12, he was never placed in the Emergency Ward.
He spent so many days in the hospital paying so many bills and being neglected.
His brother testified that even after giving the nurses and doctors test results, nothing was being done about it.
He spent his last 24hours without any medical attention whatsoever.
He was discharged wrongly by a 400level law student.
Hours where spent in the hospital literally begging the doctors to give a detailed report of what led to his death.
Negligence was admitted but under the guise of Gross Error.....A fanciful term for murder.
This isn't the first time a patient has been killed as a result of negligence on the part of this hospital.
Many times when a girl visits the sick bay, she is immediately treated with Scorn and contempt as long as her issues has anything to do with the abdomen. They have told people to take pregnancy tests instead of providing proper care.
Nurses in the sick bay ask patients to come with a friend because they won't spend the night awake with them.
It is nauseating the way patients are greater by the medical service of ABU Zaria. The nurses will sleep under nets and leave the patients fighting off mosquitoes.
We are saying, enough is enough.
Tayo didn't spend Ten years striving to come out as a graduate of law for nothing.
He didn't have to die.
This is a great grief and we have to ensure it never repeats itself again.
