A British mother-of-three has died after getting a ‘bottom lift’ at a Turkish clinic made popular by reality TV stars.
Leah Cambridge, 29, from Leeds collapsed shortly after the £3,000 operation that aimed to lift and increase the size of her bottom began at the Elite Aftercare Clinic in Izmir.

It is thought she died on the operating table at the celebrity clinic favoured by the cast of The Only Way Is Essex - but her cause of death has not yet been revealed, reported the Sun.

Last night Miss Cambridge’s partner, Scott Franks, 31, issued an impassioned plea for more information around the circumstances of her death, as his life, he said, had come crashing down around him.

Joining her parents in Turkey to fly Miss Cambridge’s body home, he told the paper: ‘I just wish this was a bad dream.

‘Two days ago I was happy. Now I’m a broken man and will be for ever.

‘I’m hurt so bad and this is only the start. My life has crashed.’

Mr Franks, a scaffolding manager, also warned others who were considering the cosmetic surgery to factor in all of the risks before going forward with any operation.

He added: ‘People need to be aware of situations that can happen with this treatment.

‘We are still waiting for answers and are also trying to get a flight to bring Leah home.’

Yesterday Mr Franks filmed a heartbreaking video showing him travelling home from Turkey.

It showed him arriving at the airport dragging some luggage, with the caption: 'My baby's suitcase.'

And this morning he uploaded a video showing her smiling and laughing as she hugged two of her son's.

One friend wrote: 'I can only imagine what your going through...Cling onto them gorgeous boys, cuddle them tight xx so so sorry xx'

Miss Cambridge, who worked as a beautician, followed the likes of reality TV stars Lauren Goodger and Amber Dowding in opting for the Turkish clinic.

The so-called ‘Brazilian butt-lift’ procedure involves taking fat from the waist or the stomach and injecting it into the bottom.

It serves as an alternative to buttock augmentations using implants and is believed to offer a safer way of plumping your bottom due to the ‘natural’ fat used, which minimises the risk of silicon rejection.

Mr Franks, her partner for ten years, told The Sun: ‘It’s like a nightmare. Leah wanted to get married and we definitely would have in the next few years but instead I’m going to have to plan a funeral.

‘I’m looking at her face on video and I think it can’t be true.’

In a heart-breaking tribute Mr Franks wrote on Facebook: ‘I can’t believe I’m setting off to say my goodbyes to my little darling.

‘This is going to be the hardest thing I’ve done. I can’t imagine being in the house without her.’

To Miss Cambridge, he added: ‘I will always leave a space for you at the table and make sure our kids remember you.’

Former Spurs footballer Jamie O’Hara had liposuction at the same clinic in June.

Patients that have procedures at the clinic are then catered for in the luxury aftercare villa.

On the clinic's website it says accommodation consists of a large double bedroom with en-suite and balcony.

Patients also have a private chauffeur for all routine appointments and airport transfers.

Every meal is prepared and a nurse is on call at all times.

It says the clinic aims to provide a 'UK standard' and patients can use free wifi, cable television and Bluetooth speakers

Elite Aftercare say on their website that Brazilian butt-lift procedure usually takes between one and two hours and can either be performed under general anaesthetic, or a local anaesthetic with an epidural.

It says after surgery patients will feel 'some slight pain and discomfort' but 'the majority of out clients are walking around the next day with no pain but some discomfort.'

They have called for plastic surgeons to reevaluate their techniques 'urgently' as they clamour to identify why it carries such a high risk.

In a 'shocking' report, the taskforce said: 'The death rate of approximately one in 3,000 is the highest rate for any aesthetic procedure.

'Every surgeon performing Brazilian butt lifts should immediately reevaluate his or her technique.'

The taskforce, which represents the American Society of Plastic Surgeons among others, said the deaths were presumed to be from tears in the large gluteal veins allowing fat to block major arteries.

Mr Franks, her partner for ten years, described her death as 'like a nightmare'

But autopsies of some patients who have died have also suggested surgeons have injected fat deeper than they intended to.

It added patients who want a super-sized behind should have the procedure carried out in stages, rather than all at once.

Clinics have reported the procedure has seen more than a 50 per cent increase compared to five years ago.

The procedure's now widely-used nickname was coined in 1996 after Dr Leonard Grossman was filmed performing fat transfer surgery on a patient from Brazil.

British glamour model Chloe Khan, who shot to fame in 2010 following an unsuccessful audition for talent contest The X Factor, told Closer magazine last year how she was unable to sit down for six weeks after having a Brazilian butt lift.
