Rev Fr. Angus Fraser, the founding principal of Mount Saint Gabriel’s college in Makurdi, Benue State, has died aged 87.
Fraser who is believed to be the longest-serving missionary and teacher in Nigeria, also founded the Via Christi society.
His passing was made known by Fr. Jude Ortese, the chancellor of the diocese in Makurdi.
“I am saddened to announce the death of Very Revd Fr Angus Fraser, the founding Principal of Mt St Gabriel’s Secondary School(MSG) Makurdi and founder of Via Christi Society,” said Ortese
Fraser had received several honours such as the ‘Lifetime Achievement Awards’ and also the ‘Best Teacher in Nigeria’. He had been honoured by former United States President, Bill Clinton, as well as former President Olusegun Obasanjo who gave him a National Award of Member, the Federal Republic of Nigeria (MFR).
