I im not trying to offend anyone... if nigeria is so great, then y is it that more than 17% of the population have left or are trying to leave for other countries ;including some the ppl that have commntd here.

I totally see where you are coming from but I still have to say that some did not have a choice and some did. Inasmuch as i feel naija is great and whatnot, i still feel and we all know that it is too damn corrupt. My parents took me outta naija and i feel if i was old enough to make that decision, i would have opted to leave as well because thing are just going the drain in the country and the only saving grace there will be God's divine intervention!!!!

I can't really blame anyone for going out of Nigeria to seek for better life especially now that Nigeria situation seems hopeless at home however, our ppl orientation need to change a lot of ppl still believe that they can just come in to europe anyhow and start living good life, the fact remains that it doesn't work that way...for ppl who are already stuck in foreign land there is nothing we can do but to pray that somehow they can regularise their papers and also pray for them not to return empty handed...however for those aspiring to leave Nigeria my advise is to plan very well countries like the UK, Canada, Australia and New Zealand are countries where skilled Nigerians will find it very easy to move to if they plan their applications very well according to the rules. for ppl who are not skilled and with no special talent its always better to improve their skills first b4 aspiring to leave Nigeria. There are shortages of skilled professionals everywhere in the EU, Canada and Australia so if you are skilled you won't really have much problem...I am publishing a book next month on various available opportunities to travel out of Nigeria, this will be my little contribution to educate Nigerians on how to do it right and avoid being stucked in foreign land as an illegal immigrant

Speaking for myself..As a citizen living in Florida..I can't say that most of the illegal immigrants here are all Nigerians..shit..you hardly even see any Nigerians here for that matter(talking about Palm Beach Area). Nigeria is too far for immigrants to have easy access like that..It's mainly the ones that lives closer to the border that can easily come illegally. Country such as Haiti..which is only a two hour flight away can easily jump the border, or come on a boat..as well as other countries closer to the state's border..They've made things very difficult since the "9/11" and I think that's what's contributing to Bush trying to track down all illegal immigrants. I personally think the reason they're tracking down illegal immigrants is that..U.S does not want to support them financially or any other way..which they'll have to do if they're not working. In that case, they'll have to apply for social security and temporary assistance from the state. So basically, the government money will be taking care of them..But I think It's ridiculous that the legal citizens are paying taxes and having it deducted from our pay..but are refusing to use it to help the ones that really needs the help. Instead of the money going to stupid craps like the war..and lazy ppl doing shit with their lives..It should be used to help the illegal immigrants get their proper papers and make something of  their lives.

illegal nigerians are everywhere.....japan,us,china,malaysia,thailand....just name it....but i am definitely not against them....in fact i am proud of fellow ilegal nigerians' courage to get out of naija which cannot offer them anything and they learn how to make money in other countries....even though they are staying as illegals, they are more hardworking than the locals staying in those countries...they don't mind doing a ny jobs just to make small money.....unlike the mexicans and italians in US who are maffia and drug dealers....so i am proud of nigerians and there is nothing to be ashamed of.....!!!LIVE UP ILLEGAL NAIJAS....GOD WILL HELP U!!

It's sad to see our brothers struggle to survive abroad because of various reasons not only papers, some of us where lucky to legally get citizenships but that does not make us better than them. The most important thing here is for us to think of investing back home so we can contribute to the development our our communities and countries. It's sad when we go back (home) and hear everyone talking about wanting to go overseas to look for greener pastures, it's cool as an idea but those people ignore the many setbacks and difficulties they'll have to endure to get there. Many have lost their lives, I for instance lost a close childhood friend in Alaska. We can make Africa a better place to live in if we unite and love one another regardless of our differences and this is the only way forward... I am very much ashamed to tell the people in my community that I am from the US or call myself American, I love Africa and I am proud to be African even my daughter always tells people that she ain't American she is African and would love to go and live there someday. Let us spread love throughout Africa and maki it a better place to live in. We have everything we need to develop ourselves, 4get about The US, the Uk, and so on... I have seen self made millionaires in my own country and they don't even dream of relocating overseas they say it paradise down here! My boss is a billionaire from Vegas but he works and lives in my home town with his wife and kids and they love it there. People! Sell your Range Rover, BMW, Mercedes, Porche or Lamborgini Diablo and take the money back to Africa to build and create jobs for your people, we need you!! 4get about your President or minister U got what it takes to bring that change in your own country!!
