'The Empire Star'- Jussie Smollett Breaks His Silence After Vicious Attack

Jussie Smollett has finally broken his silence after the homophobic and racist attack he endured earlier this week.

The Empire star was beaten by two men early Tuesday morning in Chicago. Police added that a noose was found around the actor’s neck.

In an exclusive statement to ESSENCE ” Smollett said
“Let me start by saying that I’m OK,” My body is strong but my soul is stronger. More importantly I want to say thank you. The outpouring of love and support from my village has meant more than I will ever be able to truly put into words. ”
