As Nigerian awaits 2019 general elections, the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC’s readiness has been put to test again. Gunmen wearing military uniforms attacked a vehicle carrying electioneering material in Benue state.
The vehicle was reported to be conveying non-sensitive election materials to one of the LGAs in the state. This was disclosed by the state INEC’s Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) Dr. Nentawe Yilwatda, Vanguard reports.
According to him, at the time of the attack, the vehicle was carrying non-sensitive materials to Logo area of the state. “This is true. Recently, our vehicle which was conveying non sensitive materials was attacked along Logo area by people in military uniform,” he said.
