Aishah Ahmad who was appointed Deputy Governor of the CBN on 6 October, 2017 is reportedly leading the shortlist to replace Godwin Emefiele whose term as CBN governor is soon to expire in June 2019.

Emefiele did well because he was nominated by GEJ.  Buhari will nominate the least in whatever list they will bring to him and watch how monetary policy crisis happens. It’s not beyond Buhari. He doesn’t value professionalism. He will say the appointment is based on ‘integrity’.
