The Founder and leader of International Godsway Church, ‘Angel’ Bishop Daniel Obinim has destroyed images of Jesus Christ in his church with the simple reason that those images aren’t the real images of the son of God.
According to Obinim, those images are fake and for centuries, Christians have been worshipping these fake images placed in churches. He is, therefore, going to replace those fake images with his and also put up a huge statue of himself in front of his church since he can be seen and felt by Christians ─ to him since Jesus Christ cannot be seen and felt, it makes no sense to place his fake images in his church.
Daniel Obinim speaking to his congregation at the Tema branch of his church said;
“We are not getting the real pictures of Jesus Christ that is how come we keep using this. I destroyed the ones in Kumasi and Accra because this man is an Italian who acted in a movie. You can never get the picture of my father the messiah anywhere. I should make my statue and pictures because I value the gifts he has given to me”.
