ACP Abayomi Shogunle has reacted to calls from some quarters against the recent clamp down on prostitutes in Abuja night clubs. Few days ago, over 70 suspected prostitutes were arrested and detained after a raid by police officers who stormed a night club in Abuja.
However, some quarters on social media are of the opinion that the police had no right to arrest the woman.
Reacting to the their call, Abayomi Shogunle via a tweet stated that their trade is not only a crime but a sin according to the two major religions in Nigeria.
He shared:
Those making noise on the clampdown on prostitutes in #Abuja;
•Prostitution is a crime under the law
•P is a sin under the 2 main religions of FCT residents
•Medicine says P is spreading HIV & STD
•P is lifeline of violent criminals
•P don’t pay tax
• culture frowns at P.
