we are all human, mostly this crazy sexy world of today,i think this dress code in church is better
anybody who wants to wear mini skirt should do that outside church, how can u focus, when u turn left and see a very sexy thigh
expose, even if u try not to take ur eyes there, your heart has taken the picture,so it will be a battle  withing u,should i look,
no,its bad,b4 u look,u are lost,so i like it,if eyes no see,heart no go fight
thats a good step

God is everywhere......so if you are trying to restrict them in the church, take it further to their homes............you fit?

ok After church, whatever they want to wear
they can wear?... what difference does it make?
the congregation u see, is the church, i know a
lotta ppl will be against the word " the heart is what
we take to the church and not what u wear"
is it wrong for a mad man to walk into the church wth
shabby and torn dresses?

what difference does it make, if u wear decent dresses
in the house of God and u go out and dress the way u desire
Hypocriticism is one common disease in Nigeria, thats why
even witch doctors go to church.
Adebayo means well, but that certainly cant be called a development
good talk............

What is good about the talk. The Will of God is what makes a person a good Christian. God says keep my commandments and walk away from unrighteousness. In these churches now a days you don't know the difference between christian and non christian because all of them are looking alike. Dressing, talking and acting like them. Jesus Christ says we should shine His light. We has christian are living in the world but we are not of the world.

The way we should dress, talk etc are in the bible and should be adhered to if we want to have Godliness inside our life. This is the reason some pray and pay and nothing come inside of their lives positively because the sacrifices they are ask to made they don't want to.

WOW! Interesting....This actually can be argued a number of ways:

1. IF the church has a specific doctrine that stated their required dress before this was enacted THEN they are within their Rights to impose such a rule.  However, if it is not stated in the original doctrine then the Overseer may be out of boundary to set forth such a rule on parishioners.

2. Looking at this from a Biblical Standpoint- The Bible addresses how a person should dress when entering the House of God.

The book of Deuteronomy has a prohibition against dressing in clothing of the opposite sex:

A woman must not wear men's clothing, nor a man wear women's clothing, for the LORD your God detests anyone who does this. (NIV, Deuteronomy 22:5)

Proper dress for women
Two passages in the New Testament concern proper dress for women:

I also want women to dress modestly, with decency and propriety, not with braided hair or gold or pearls or expensive clothes, but with good deeds, appropriate for women who profess to worship God. (NIV, 1 Timothy 2:9-10)

Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as braided hair and the wearing of gold jewelry and fine clothes. Instead, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God's sight. For this is the way the holy women of the past who put their hope in God used to make themselves beautiful. (NIV, 1 Peter 3:2-5)

3. Another perspective may be argued from the point of the parishioners or visitors who may attend the church.  Assuming that people aren't showing up looking like they dressed for the CLUB or like a BOPPER/HOOCHIE then they have the right to wear what they choose.  Afterall, unless the church is buying clothing to attend services then they may have over-stepped their authority.

In my own opinion, I'd say this simply boils down to COMMON SENSE.  A Person should KNOW there are certain things you don't wear and that different occasions call fro different styles of dressing.  The exception to this rule is IF the person doesn't have a wardrobe accessible for him to wear other than what he has.  I also wonder why the Overseer took such a BOLD step.  Was it because his Clergyman were being distracted, tempted, etc?  Or was it a true concern for God's house?  One can play Devil's Advocate with this issue (Oops hope they know what this means).  i do believe they went TOO far about the HAIR though.
