We Spend N34 Million To Feed Prisoners Daily – Federal Government Of Nigeria

The Federal Government spends N33,878,700 daily to feed prisoners nationwide, the Nigerian Prisons Service (NPS) has disclosed.

The Public Relations Officer of the Abia State Command of the service, Ikpe Linus Kalu, who made disclosure yesterday at a workshop in Umuahia, submitted that the prisoners were being fed thrice daily at N450.

At the event organised for journalists by the Dr. Uju Agomuo-led Prisoners’ Rehabilitation and Welfare Action (PRAWA), the spokesman refuted the claims that prison staff were feeding on the food meant for inmates, just as he put the number of prisoners nationwide at 73,786, comprising 72,286 males and 1,500 females.

How I wish those prisoners will strangle your prison officials to retrieve what you guys owe them .So,FG apportioned 450naira to each head and some of these prisoners are looking so starved ! 450 naira is 150 naira per meal ,isn’t that enough to feed properly daily ? May good lord destroy your all .Men ! Nigerians are so heartless .U guys don’t have human heart .My heart so pained .u locked these guys guilty or innocent has no excuses for keeping them so starved .How I wish there’s truly a man in heaven called God
