Yinka Ayefele who is a popular gospel artiste, known for his inspirational, soul-lifting melody and signature voice has been struck with another tragic occurrence.
According to GQ BUZZ, Yinka Ayefel’s band captain, Waheed Adekola, popularly known as Ege has kicked the bucket. It was revealed that Waheed died on Friday morning after complaining of body pains on the return of an outing last weekend. Waheed was said to have been indoors since the incident as he was undergoing treatment.
The shocking news of his death shook the band who was at Ibadan for an outing. Reports say that at the time this news was compiled some members of the band had not been informed. Hopefully, the news of Waheed’s death should have been received by all the band members.
In 2016, Yinka Ayefele also had to deal with the death of another band member who was said to have died in a fatal car crash. Tunde Oduneye who was 39 years old, died after one of the trucks conveying their musical instruments back to Ibadan had a ghastly accident.
This happened after the band members left Ibadan, shortly after their performing at the wedding ceremony of the daughter of Olu Amore, a Commissioner of Police. On their way, the truck entered a pothole along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway and swerved off the road into a deep ditch, killing one of the Engineering crew aboard while several others sustained various degrees of injuries. The deceased is survived by a wife and a 2-year-old child.
May the soul of the departed band member, Waheed Adekola, popularly known as Ege rest in perfect peace and May God grant Yinka Ayefele and his band members the fortitude to bear the loss.
