The 'EAGLE'S eye have sighted the alarming discrepancy between the cost of railway construction between Ethiopia and Nigeria, even though it was constructed by the same company ... be the judge yourself

ETHIOPIA:
Addis Ababa - Djibouti's 756km line is double track, electrified and built at the cost of $3.4 billion by same contractor, CCECC. This means it cost about $4.4 million (N1.5 billion) per kilometre.



NIGERIA:
Lagos -Ibadan's 156km line is single track, non-electrified but built at the cost of $1.5 billion.by same CCECC. This means it cost about $9.6million (N3.4 billion) per kilometre - more than double the Ethiopia line.
