Team News
Tunisia
The Carthage Eagles picked up a third straight win in their recent friendly against Burundi in Rades. Tunisia triumphed 2-1 due to goals from Taha Yassine Khenissi and Naim Sliti.

Alain Giresse’s team is looking to add to an already rich history at the Africa Cup of Nations. Tunisia are heading into their 14th straight group stage appearance and lifted the title in 2004.

The current generation is very capable of emulating that feat as the Carthage Eagles are currently Africa’s second-ranked team, 25th in the FIFA/Coca-Cola World Rankings. Tunisia’s squad includes a perfect mix of locally based talent and stars from abroad such as Wahbi Khazri and Naim Sliti.

Tunisia are paying 1.65 for the win and I believe there is value here against vastly inferior opponents both in terms of history and current squad quality.

Angola
Angola have had a far from ideal preparation for the Africa Cup of Nations as they cancelled their friendly against South Africa due to a perceived lack of training. Srdan Vasiljevic’s men face a baptism of fire after qualifying for their first Africa Cup of Nations since 2013.

Palancas Negras were handed a favourable qualifying draw but made the most of it to finish above Mauritania, Burkina Faso and Botswana. Good recent form still does not guarantee Angola anything against a team 98 places above them in the world rankings.

Much of Angola’s squad is locally based although there are also plenty of players plying their trade in Europe. Lazio’s Bastos and Boavista’s Mateus are among the most notable.

It would be a huge upset if Angola were to pull off the win against Tunisia and that is why this outcome is paying 5.50 whilst a draw can be backed at 3.60.

Head To Head

Tunisia and Angola have played each other six times with the Carthage Eagles winning three matches comfortably and three ending in draws. They have not met since 2008 and it will be difficult for the current Angola squad to repeat the 1-1 friendly draw from their last match.
