Nigeria vs Guinea ended in a 1-0 win to the Super Eagles as they become to first team to qualify for the round of 16. Emeka Omeruo scored in the 73rd minute as he headed home a cross from Moses Simon to give Nigeria maximum points in Group B. Gernot Rohr's men dominated the opening exchanges of the match as Alex Iwobi got the early chance in the opening three minutes.

The Super Eagles played better in the second half but the moment of game came when Simon's corner kick was met with a glancing header from Leganes defender Omeruo. The National Elephant tried to fight their way back into the match the Nigerian team were resolute in their defence. Nigeria now has six minutes from two matches and will play Madagascar in their last Group B match.


Meanwhile, Nwankwo Kanu has given the current Super Eagles squad words of wisdom as they prepare for their next game against Guinea. The former Arsenal star encouraged the players through his social media handle to go for glory at AFCON 2019 going on in Egypt.
