Police in Ogun State have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the murder of a 27-year-old farm worker identified as Ismail Mukaila Ogunsola.
Ogunsola, a resident of Asimolowo village in Obafemi-Owode Local Government Area of the state, was allegedly killed by his boss, one Segun Adekoya, over a theft allegation levelled against him.
The decomposing body of the deceased was found hanged on a mango tree in the farm along Mowe-Ofada road.
Sources said no rope was tied on the neck of the late farm worker when his remains were removed from the tree top.
New Telegraph learnt that Ogunsola was lured to the farm on August 11 by Adekoya, who owns Offshore Agro Limited situated along Adejunrin Road, Owode-Egba town.
Adekoya was said to have invited the deceased on the pretext that he wanted to see him for an important matter, “but killed him and hid his corpse on a mango tree in the farm.”
When the victim’s family members could not ascertain his whereabouts, they reported at the Owode-Egba police division.
A search on the farm by policemen on August 15, however, led to the discovery of Ogunsola’s decomposing body, hidden on a mango tree.
