Nigerian singer Teniola Apata popularly known as Teni Makanaki, has revealed the true meaning of her name.
The “Uyo meyo” crooner was speaking in an interview with Bolanle Olukanni on Ndani Tv’s ‘The Juice’ where she spoke at length about her family, her music and her relationship with her sister Niniola.
In the interview, she was asked by Bolanle where she got the name ‘Makanaki’.
Teni then explained that it is the name of one of her favourite footballers from many years ago.
The footballer, Cyrille Makanaky, a Cameroonian international was lightning fast and very difficult to dispossess when he was on the ball.
