
A Chief Magistrate Court in Sagamu, Ogun State, has ordered the remand of a suspected land grabbing kingpin, Kamorudeen Lamina, popularly called ‘Sir K’.
Mr Lamina was arraigned over allegations of terrorizing land owners in the south-western part of the country.
Meanwhile,the accused is facing a four-count charge of attempted murder, conspiracy to murder, murder, unlawful possession of firearms and armed robbery in suit number MSH/289c/2019.
According to defense counsel, Bayo Omotuburuwa, prayed the court not to grant the ex-parte application which was placed before the court by the Prosecuting Counsel, Adeola Adeleye.
Whereas, defense counsel also implore the court to grant his client bail, quoting Section 307 of the Administration of Criminal Justice (ACJ) to support his argument.
However,The chief magistrate, B.J Ojikutu, in his ruling,denied the bail, ordered the accused to remain in prison, pending the Attorney-General’s legal advice, adjourned further hearing to September 26.
