The Chief Executive Officer of MTN Nigeria, Ferdi Moolman, has said that everyone has a right to a world where their rights and freedoms are respected.

He said individuals have the right to live and earn a living freely, safely and protected by the law.

Moolman tweeted this statement on Tuesday via the South African entity’s verified Twitter handle, @MTNNG.

The tweet is coming in the wake of social media outcry against perceived #xenophobiaattacks against Nigerians living in South Africa.

More of their offices should be burned so that he can graduate from tweeting to meeting their leaders to make his voice count.

Many people saying  South African businesses should be burnt and destroyed, should rethink again cos, if u jus imagine Mtn, DStv, ShopRite, Stanbic bank, destroyed nation wide, do u know how many millions of Nigerians would lose their source of income.. I think there are still better ways to handle these.. for example if we really don't want them in our country again them d govt should find a way to force them to sell or something.. so most people could still retain their jobs.

Thats how much time we have to wait while peoples sons, daughters, husbands, wives, sisters, aunties etc are being killed. You made sense, but i bet,you would rather,a thousand people lose their jobs, than you losing a loved one via xenophobia. However, when these companies shut down their businesses, others will rise, and more employments will be made...only that it may not necessarily be exactly those that lost their jobs. But when things go the way that it is going at the moment, collateral damage is expected.
