Nigerian singer and member of now-defunct boy band, Plantashun Boyz, Blackface has blasted upcoming artistes for always trying to copy Fela.
The singer took to his Twitter page to advise upcoming artistes to try to come up with new sounds instead of copying the originator of Afrobeats, Fela. He also urged them not to come into the music industry if they are not able to create sounds unique to them only.
He wrote:
Quote
Dear artist,If you are not coming to the table with something new please don’t come at all , una wan copy Fela finish? Make una dey try create new melody I take God beg una

Art cannot be restricted, let those who have new sound do so and those who want to copy do, it is the delivery and final product that matters, sell or no sell. Puff daddy and DJ Khaled are making heavy from mixing and remixing other people's sound and music, it doesn't mean that's what everyone is doing and it doesn't have to be

What is your business Blackface? Fela is a legend that musicians copy or remember through regeneration of his song. What is wrong in that? Bad belle de worry you
