Organizers of the annual event held in Jos tagged ‘Jos Chillin” have responded to claims that they used Davido as bait to sell tickets for their event.
The event which was slated to hold yesterday, December 1, 2019, was hindered by Davido’s absence.
Following various social media campaigns that drew widespread engagements, a large crowd gathered in anticipation of the popstar who eventually did not show up.

The absence of the DMW boss sparked off widespread outrage which left a few properties destroyed.
Disappointed fans also took to social media to register their grievances with many blaming the organizers of the event for lack of proper arrangements, and in some cases some suspected fraud.
In a statement issued by the Secretary of the event, Gideon Atu Izang, he explained how organizers of the event met their side of the bargain, stating in clear terms that Davido’s failure to make the event was in no way their fault.

“All provisions were made and all agreed financial commitments met within agreed timelines. Davido’s failure to honor his obligations to Jos Chillin’ and the fans was in no way due to our failure on any count. We at the moment, await an official position from Davido’s camp before announcing our next move,”
the statement read.A member of the organizing team, Otunba Ufuoma Surface Dogun, who spoke independently on Facebook also made some shocking revelations.
His statement reads in part

‘Just for the purposes of clearing the air and providing further information into efforts made to get him to come to Jos, even at extra cost outside what was originally agreed (and paid for) in the contract he signed, Davido and his team did not communicate travel challenges to any member of our team until 6 pm on show day. They first claimed that they didn’t have (the) fund for fuelling his father’s jet, despite signing a contract that states clearly that he was supposed to take care of his logistics. We had a meeting and decided to concede by sending the money to fuel the jet.
Next, the said they needed to get permission from his dad to use the jet. This permission wasn’t forthcoming by 7 pm and we had another meeting and decided that instead of waiting endlessly for his dad to agree for him to use the jet, we will pay for another jet to bring him to Jos. We communicated this to his manager and he started asking silly questions about ownership of the jet and the flight status as if NCAA will allow an unhealthy jet to operate. With all these questions answered, they then proceeded to inform us that they were 18 people traveling and the 8 seater jet we have provided won’t work. These guys signed a contract that says not more than 11 people were to come for the show including Davido. Remember also that we were bending over backwards to provide the 8 seater jet that we have no business providing. The time at this point was almost 8 pm.”

Mr. Dogun also stated how efforts were made to provide a contingency plan but that also failed.

“We then had another management meeting to decide on a fall back plan and considered a lot of options. Naira Marley, Wande Coal, Tiwa Savage, Zlatan, Patoranking, Teni, etc. We decided to get Patoranking to come in from Abuja because he already a Hennessy event there. A private jet was in Abuja waiting for him to finish performance and board but he didn’t finish his performance till after 1 am by which time we couldn’t continue to keep the airport open endlessly,”
he added.However, a member of Davido’s DMW gang responded to a post by Instablog stating that full appearance fee wasn’t paid hence their absence.
