Nigerian lady, Maiye Oluwakemi has took to her Instagram handle to complain and also asked the Federal government to review the contract jobs in Nigerian banks. According to her, she has been a contract staff with First bank since 2014. She further begged the federal government to do something about the terms and agreement in contract letters for youths working in the bank.

Working in the bank as a contract staff is a very challenging job. These are the few terms and agreement;

 Contract staffs are not promoted the same way with the banks’ staff, They are not entitled to any retirement benefit from the bank, There is no pre-determined tenor even though the word “contract” is used

I worked in the bank for 18 years and I can honestly tell you that your job is already over. For coming out on social media is a no no. Anyways, I often view contract staff like people without options. They take what is thrown at them and I wonder why anybody will even accept such job where some outsourced companies will be collecting your salaries and pay you peanuts out of it and most of these outsourced companies belong to the bank executives!
It is a time wasting, thankless job and anyone shouldnt be on it for more than a year!
