Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Abdulrasheed Akanbi has been suspended for six months by the Osun State Council of Traditional Rulers for assaulting another monarch.

The sanction was given on Friday.

A committee headed by Orangun of Ila, Oba Wahab Adedotun, was also constituted by the council to further investigate the matter involving Oluwo and Obas in Iwo land.

The royal fathers at their emergency meeting held at Osun State Government Secretariat, Abere, presided over by Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, arrived at the decision to suspend Oba Akanbi.

Long overdue. The man is unfit to be King. Hope this is the beginning of the process to his ultimate dethronement.

If this is true, then the monarch who insulted him in the first place should also be suspended.

Perhaps Iwo people feel at home with the thuggery their Oba displayed in Public. One would have expected them to join hands with the Traditional Institution that is trying to project them as civilized people, and not desirous  of a man that is attempting to lead them back into the Dark Ages.
