A 62-year-old woman has died while struggling for COVOD-19 palliative shared by the  Rivers state government in Elele Kingdom, Ikwerre Local Government Area of the State.

the deceased, Mrs. Florence Onuobodo arrived at the venue with others waiting to receive the palliatives. A stampede ensued and she was trampled upon by others who were also

struggling to collect the food items. Four other women including a 91-year-old woman sustained varying degrees of injury during the stampede.

Commenting on the incident, a counsellor representing Elele, ward 4, at Ikwerre LGA Legislative Assembly, Emmanuel Amadi, denied the allegation that the process for sharing the

palliatives were poorly managed. He said it was unfortunate that the deceased died at the University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital where she was rushed to.

Mumu governor were you not the one who went to destroy hotels because they open . Why did you allow palliatives to be distributed in a chaotic condition? What happened to door to door distribution .
