General Tanko Yakasai Slams President Buhari, Says He Cannot Solve Nigeria's Problem

An elder statesman, Alhaji Tanko Yakasai said he did not support Muhammadu Buhari’s candidature in 2015 because he knew he was “incompetent” and incapable of solving the nation’s problems.

However, he said he hoped against hope that after winning the election Buhari would be able to fix at least the power sector.

Yakasai said that five years down the line, the president has not given him any reason to change his opinion about him.

The Kano-based retired politician stated these on Friday during a Zoom conference organised by Governance Index, a global think tank creating virtual ICT-based conferences on critical issues.

“I have never supported Buhari. I have been against him because I felt he was not competent to handle the job, and I have been proven right,” Yakasai said during the virtual conference attended by more than 100 participants.

He added, “When President Muhammadu Buhari was elected, I was hoping that at least, we will get stable power all over the country. This is his fifth year. He has only two more active years because the last one year will be for election.

“I don’t know what are his plans, when will Kano get electricity to restore its industrial might, so that every man in Kano will be gainfully employed as a result of provision in Kano, likewise Enugu and Lagos among others. Those were the key issues from the time Buhari was elected and they are still the issues of today.”

"GENERAL" Tanko Yakasai? When did  this Elder Clown become a Soldier.  Perhaps General Buhari wanted to proof you wrong, hence his entire cabinet is almost a Kitchen Cabinet. Unfirnuately, the man is still giving you the chance to criticize him.
