During the latest episode of the BBNaija reunion show, the host, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu decided to bring together the most talked about housemates, Mercy and Tacha.
Speaking about their fall-out, Mercy said “in real life” she and her colleague, Tacha are cool but the latter was being hostile towards her on social media.

Ebuka asked Tacha what happened on that night and she gave her narration of events. She said she had just congratulated Mercy for buying immunity which gave her an automatic entrance to the finals. Ebuka stated that both parties had been cordial before that night and there wasn’t any need for the situation that night to degenerate. Tacha said being in a confined space for so long and being up for eviction might have been the trigger to the excessive outburst.
Mercy said they were cool before that fight and they had even discussed Tacha moving to Lagos.
Ebuka asked them why there weren’t cordial even after they supposedly buried all hatchets immediately the show ended. Mercy said they’ve both had busy schedules but Ebuka didn’t agree with this excuse. He mentioned that this head to head was the first time they’ve looked each other in the face since the Multichoice event where they allegedly settled. Mercy said that she knows that Tacha is a nice person but couldn’t stand her behavior on social media. Mercy also said they were cool offline.
Mercy said Tacha’s act of always throwing subs and liking shades tweeted by others against her put her off. Mercy said they spoke on phone several times.
Mercy said she also called to wished Tacha happy birthday but the call was answered by Tacha’s PA and Tacha didn’t bother to return the call or acknowledge her wishes.
Mercy said she’s cool with Tacha but she’s didn’t like her social media lifestyle of chasing clout. Ebuka asked if Tacha agreed with Mercy of them being cool and she said no. Tacha said Don Jazzy advised her to be cool with Mercy since they had to work with the same brand and she followed his advice till she discovered Mercy had blocked her when she tries to follow her.
Mercy cut in and said Tacha was the one always throwing shade and said Tacha did same when she was signed after her to a hair brand by claiming that her deal was bigger that Mercy. She said had receipts and screenshots of other shades thrown at her by Tacha but couldn’t remember them off head. Mercy said she was willing to do great things with Tacha off and on social media but she needed the energy from Tacha to be the same.
Tacha defended herself by saying that her social media has always been handled by her publicist since she left the house. She said she had never thrown shade at Mercy.
Mercy asked Tacha why she liked the shades thrown at her by other people and Tacha restated that she doesn’t handle her social media handles.Tacha mentioned that Mercy blocked her and the latter agreed to doing so to avoid seeing shades thrown at her. Mercy reiterated that she didn’t want any bad blood to exist between Tacha and herself because all she wants is for everyone to do well. She also said she was glad every girl from PepperDem is doing good.
Mercy also touched on how Ubi Franklin contributed to the enmity between them.
Ebuka said that they both had strong followings and asked if the fans have probably gotten into their head hence their actions. Mercy said their fans love them too much and agreed with Ebuka that the fans sometimes amplified things.
Tacha said she asked Mercy to go on live with her so the fans and every other person could know that they are cool. Tacha said they were supposed to this after a certain brand announcement deal but Mercy reneged on it. Mercy said she did so because it was hard to trust Tacha’s genuine as she later discovered that all their plans to reconcile via live was recorded without her prior knowledge. She told Tacha that the only way she would believe any arm of friendship extended is if it’s done in the absence of cameras.
Finally, Mercy said she wants an organic friendship that starts offline and grows into being buddies on social media. She doesn’t want a situation where there are chummy with each other on social media but had no genuine love and respect for them.
Tacha chipped in that Mercy should unblock her.
Ebuka advised both parties to be cordial as it could open them to more opportunities and make them powerful.
