A Kenyatta National Hospital nurse and a hotelier have been charged with uttering a false document, namely a Covid-19 test report purporting it to be a genuine document issued by the national referral facility.

The two, Deleven Enock Moses and Samwel Shikanda Alukwe, were charged with 11 counts of uttering a false document at the Nairobi Chief Magistrate Sinkiyian Tobiko.

The state claimed the two committed the offence at KNH’s infectious unit which is located at Mbagathi Hospital on July 5, 2020.

Further, the KNH nurse is facing 29 counts in three different files for allegedly forging Covid-19 results for over 20 patients.
He is alleged to have committed the forgeries for the other patients at the High Rise Estate in Ngumo, Nairobi County.

The two denied the offences and were released on varying bond terms.

The nurse was granted cash bail of Sh150,000 and a personal bond of Sh500,000 while the hotelier was given Sh50,000 cash bail.

The magistrate Sinkiyian Tobiko released the nurse on a cashbail Sh 150k and a personal bond of Sh 500k while the hotelier was released on a cashbail of Sh50k
