A motorist and a woman were crushed to death on Friday in a separate accident in Ogun and Lagos states.

The motorist was reportedly killed by a truck belonging to Dangote cement company, on the Mosinmi-Sagamu Road, Sagamu, Ogun State.

The spokesperson for the Federal Road Safety Corps in the state, Florence Okpe, confirmed the incident.

Okpe in a statement said the crash occurred at about 9.30am, adding that four persons comprising three men and one woman were involved in the accident.

She said, “While one man died in the road crash, three others were rescued unhurt.’’

The Lagos crash occurred around 12.30am at Mile 2 when a tanker with the number plate, KSF260XY carrying 55,000-litre petrol fell and spilled its contents.

It was gathered that the tanker driver wanted to overtake another vehicle when he lost control of the vehicle.

The General Manager, Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, Dr Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, said an unidentified female was killed in the accident and her body had been deposited in a mortuary.

He added, “The fallen tanker has been handed over to LASTMA officials at the Mazamaza division. The driver and his motor boy fled the scene upon impact.”

This must be a ritual business. I do not see the reason Dangote  truck killing people every day. Is it not a means of blood contribution?. So FRSC cannot regulate the movement of these trucks, at least 5 KPH within cities and be plying at nights. Also be checking the drivers for alcohol and drugs including the the conditions of the trucks.I Know money  can buy them but they should have conscience and safe peoples' lives and work with integrity
