Popular singer, Teni Apata has been criticised for referring to Erica as an "Omo Igbo" in a short video she shot that was intended to canvas for votes for the fan favourite, Laycon. Teni said : "Eyin omo igbo, efi Laycon le" - Which translates to: "People of the Igbo tribe, leave Laycon alone". Several Igbo's find this offensive and expressed their disappointment and dissatisfaction at Teni using the term "Omo Igbo" to describe Igbo people and more specifically, Erica.
